Since 1970, the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin has developed a strong tradition of public service and cutting-edge research on the most compelling public policy challenges of our time. The School's mission is to develop leaders and ideas that will help our state, the nation, and the international community address critical public policy challenges in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. Master of Global Policy Studies:(MGPS):
- 22 hours of core courses
- 15 hours of specialization
- 9 hours of electives
- 0-3 hours of internships
Master of Public Affairs:(MPAff):
- 27 hours of common and flexible core courses
- 21 hours of electives
- 0-3 hours of internships
Fields of Specialization
Our degree programs include a Master of Public Affairs( MPAff), a mid-career MPAff sequence, a Master of Global Policy Studies (MGPS) and a Ph.D. in Public Policy. Masters' students have the opportunity to pursue dual degrees with a number of graduate programs across the University of Texas campus.
A unique feature of the masters' curriculum is a practical application sequence that includes client-oriented policy research projects and agency internships.
The MPAff is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.
